Review of Scivation Xtend – Bodybuilding Supplements
Scivation Xtend Review
Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) have been something I haven’t paid much attention to until recently. When you consider all the hype surrounding muscle builders like creatine, nitric oxygen boosters, and testosterone enhancers, it doesn’t make sense to me that branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) are so boring. However, I have done extensive research over the years on supplements and now I have a completely new outlook on Xtend BCAA. I see their importance.
Advertising does work, I suppose. Even though they are often exaggerated, statements in supplement ads can catch your attention. Half the time, you won’t even notice it. That’s advertising. It pains me to admit that sometimes I have been naive. But, I have. And chances are that we all have. BCAAs are not as well-known as other muscle builders. Most supplement formulas now contain BCAAs but in very small amounts.
While most major supplements carry some form of BCAA product, I came across Scivation Xtend BCAA around a year ago and I’m glad that I did. Before I go any further, let me say that this supplement is not something you will ‘feel’ or gain huge amounts of muscle within a short time. However, I noticed a decrease in soreness and faster recovery. My muscles also have more energy when I take this before and after a workout. I take Xtend pre-and post-workout. I use it during my cardio and on my off days for weight training. This is why BCAAs are so crucial. When you exercise, you break down muscles. This effect can be countered by feeding your muscles BCAAs while you exercise.
Xtend has a large amount of BCAAs, with 3.5 grams of leucine and 1.8 grams of each isoleucine or valine. This 2:1 ratio is most effective, which is unlike other BCAA products. Xtend contains moderate amounts of citrulline malate and glutamine. Citrulline malate is known to increase performance, but I don’t know much about it. I don’t think you will feel the effects of this at one gram unless you take several servings of Xtend. 2.5 grams of glutamine is contained in Xtend per serving. Studies have shown that just 2 grams of glutamine can boost natural growth hormone levels. Recovery is made possible by glutamine. This is a very valuable addition.
This product is best taken before, during, or after a workout. Two to six scoops are recommended (two scoops equals’ one portion). This product is only taken during cardio and/or my workouts. I usually take two to three scoops. To prevent muscle damage, I believe it is important to use this product during cardio. This product can be used for both pre-and post-workout. It is especially good for post-workout. I have also tried Xtend before bed. I found deeper, more restful sleep when I took Xtend at night. This may be due to the glutamine found in the product.
Scivation’s Xtend has my opinion: It is the best BCAA supplement in terms of quality and cost per serving. The 30 servings of Xtend are available in most shops for between 2500-3500 INR per container. However, I have found this product for 2500 INR at some online retailers. Shipping costs will be added, but this is still a significant saving. People have told me that I would choose this supplement if I was broke and couldn’t afford any other supplements (besides whey protein).
